Birbynė can be made of a variety materials: wood, bark, horn, straw, goose feather, etc. The earliest and simplest examples were used by children as playtoys and by shepherds as a tool to control the herd. In the 19th century, influenced by classical instruments and especially the clarinet, birbynė evolved into a serious musical instrument used in assembles. Jahrhundert aus einer diatonischen Hornpfeife zu einem voll chromatischen Instrument entwickelt. Es gibt Instrumente unterschiedlicher Größe für die Sopran-, Tenor- und Kontrabasslage. Neben der Kankles gilt sie in Litauen als Nationalinstrument. Instrumentenkundlich ist sie mit dem Chalumeau, dem Tárogató und der Klarinette verwandt. Verschiedene Stimmlagen Die am häufigsten (auch solistisch) gebrauchte Form ist die Sopranbirbynė. Sie hat ein Rohr aus Holz (meist Ahorn- oder Apfelholz), das leicht konisch gebohrt ist. Sie besitzt zehn Grifflöcher, davon acht auf der Oberseite und zwei Daumenlöcher auf der Unterseite. Das Rohrblatt wird auf einem Mundstück befestigt, das dem Klarinettenmundstück ähnelt und aus Ebenholz oder Horn besteht. |

Il en existe de différentes tailles pour les registres soprano, ténor et contrebasse. Cest avec le kankles linstrument national en Lituanie. Du point de vue de sa facture, elle sapparente au Chalumeau, au Tárogató et à la Clarinette. Différents registres La forme la plus utilisée est la birbyne soprano. Elle est faite dun tuyau en bois (le plus couramment en érable ou en bois de pommier) dont la perce est légèrement conique. Elle possède dix trous, huit sur la partie supérieure et deux trous pour le pouce sur la partie inférieure. La anche est attachée sur une embouchure semblable au bec de la clarinette, en bois débène ou en corne animale. |
