has gloss | eng: The consensual response is any reflex observed on one side of the body when the other side has been stimulated. For example, when an individual shields his or her right eye and has light shined into the left eye, constriction of the right pupil will occur. This is an example of a contralateral response. The reasoning for this response is that if a light source was intense, both pupils would probably be illuminated and it follows that they would constrict together. |
