| has gloss | eng: Filmspotting is a weekly film podcast and radio program from Chicago hosted by Adam Kempenaar and Matty Robinson. Until May 2006, the show was called Cinecast but a conflict over the name forced the change. Shortly after the name change to Filmspotting, the show was picked up for a monthly broadcast on Chicago public radio station WBEZ. The show originated with Kempenaar creating the film blog Cinemascoped. He asked Sam Van Hallgren (then Sam Hallgren), a friend of his, to become a regular contributor, and when the blog began to wane, the two began to formulate ideas on how to revive it. Kempenaar was given the idea of producing a podcast when he read a Wired article on the subject when the concept of podcasting was still in its infancy. |
