De mannetjes maken ondanks de geringe lengte een enorm kabaal met de kwaakblaas, voornamelijk in de paartijd. Een groot aantal soorten produceert een fluitachtige lokroep, die kilometers ver te horen is, echter niet allemaal. Enkele soorten zijn uitgezet, en bedreigen van nature voorkomende kikkers. |
